The looms have stopped. The work continues.

Art, design, wellness, and good food — in a woollen mill that has been here since 1840.

The Mill has been standing on this river for generations.

It was built during the Famine, at a moment when this valley needed work, income and community. Something worth staying for.

It was built to create - wool was carded, spun, and woven here for decades, in a familiar rhythm that became part of the community around it.

Then it stopped.

For years the machines were quiet and the building waited — gathering itself for what would come next.

The Mill was reborn in 2025 as a space for art, design, wellness, and food.

The same stone, the same light, the same river.

But a new kind of work is happening inside.

A place to slow down, and feed the senses.

At the Mill

Art + Design

Contemporary Irish Art fills the 8 Arch Gallery this season, with two exhibitions. Makers and designers gather for the Mill Design Fair this August.

Wellness

A handful of immersive days through the summer. Think: morning Pilates and a vibrant seasonal lunch, followed by afternoon tasters of alternative wellness practices and therapies.

Cultural

Theatre, historical events, and gatherings that draw people together. The programme is still being written, so watch this space..

Supper Clubs

This summer, we’re setting a sharing table in the middle of this building that oozes history. A celebratory moment of good food and great company, in a room that remembers.

Private Hire

The Mill also opens its doors for private hire. Few venues offer this kind of setting - a 180 year old building on the River Mahon, with a tangible atmosphere that no new build could replicate. Get in touch to discuss your event.
